Scottish Civils Training Group - Developing On Site Communities 04.12.18 - Hampden Park, Glasgow
CECA Scotland is a strong supporter of the work and activity of the Scottish Civils Training Group (SCTG).
The SCTG have secured renowned motivational speaker Eddie Woods of Karrdale for an event on Tuesday 4th December at Hampden Park, Glasgow, offering an unrivaled opportunity to hear and learn from Eddie.
There will be morning and afternoon sessions with lunch in between and the SCTG are encouraging companies to bring their operatives along to hear Eddie’s intuitive words on ‘Temptation vs Risk’ and ‘Developing Communities on Site’.
When under time pressure, the choices we make can become blurred as the stress builds up. We all know the way we communicate is not at its best when anxious. Eddie’s briefings will promote the benefits of regaining calm when under time stress and offering practical strategies for the workplace.
The event is highly subsidised and is being offered for just £20 + vat per delegate for each session for CITB registered levy payers. The cost for non CITB levy paying companies will be £50 + vat per delegate for each session.
The morning session will start at 10am on ‘Temptation vs Risk’ and the afternoon session will start at 1pm on ‘Building Communities on Site’. Video resources are available for use here.
SCTG are encouraging as many civil engineering contracting companies as possible to attend and to bring with them their operatives to hear Eddie’s intuitive words. There is no capped upper limit to the number of delegates per company that can attend.
Interested?
Online booking is now available on the SCTG website.
To secure your place(s), click here for the morning session or here for the afternoon session. Delegates are welcome to attend one or both of the presentations – if attending both, please register for both sessions.

The Unmeasurable You
1 Day Workshop - 12th May 2017 - Glasgow City Centre
The Unmeasurable You is a difficult topic for some to venture towards. This notion of creating a 100% loss-free environment is a big ask but a noble cause. To help ensure a safe return, it is important that new thinking does not ignore the tribal, hunting and community spirit that has always moved within the human race.
Impulses, instincts and temptations can still get us into trouble, as does apathy, daydreaming and distraction. The building blocks of personal responsibility sits behind these unmeasurable traits we have as humans. What are you building? A safety culture or a safe community? Are you building teams or tribes? Who does that magic zero belong to?
We are often asked about active listening techniques, however we feel these do not work as intended. Attention Forcing is a surefire way of ensuring your message is received, which is key for safe outcomes.
To explore these concepts in more detail, we are delivering 1-day workshops throughout 2017. The workshops are delivered in a light-hearted and easily understandable language that ensures learning is accessible to all regardless of job title, skills or experience.
Places are limited so please email Info@karrdale.com or call 0800 193 2011 to secure yours.
When? - 12th May 2017. 10am - 4pm
Where? - Grand Central Hotel, 99 Gordon Street, Glasgow, G1 3SF
Cost? - £200 + VAT per person
Anything else I should know? - Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
